Design Statement:
This private K-8 Regional School was in need of upgrading their existing facilities and creating a master plan for future growth and expansion. Utilizing an interactive approach with the Building Committee, a three phase, fifteen-year master plan was developed. The first phase addressed the school's most immediate needs - the design of a new multipurpose building with three new classrooms. The new facility also includes a fully equipped commercial kitchen, cafeteria and a stage, which doubles as a band classroom.
A key component to this successful project is that the school is able to use it as a source of revenue. The multipurpose building was specifically designed to accommodate receptions, special events, outside sporting events/tournaments and other community functions.
Four multipurpose/gym projects were presented to the Archdiocese's review committee that year and the design for the new Saint Joseph Center received acclamation as the best designed multipurpose facility submitted.
