Design Statement:
Located in a former Smiths Home Furnishings store, the design for this Nike, Inc. call center celebrates Nike's presence at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The reception area contains graphics recycled from their Atlanta pavilion; the Olympic idea is supported by displays reflecting sporting venues. A large curved wall connects the L-shaped building, mimicking a running track. The flooring in the lobby and main circulation areas is a sport court material made from recycled tires and Nike shoes. The "sail boat" reception desk has sail like banners, a theme that is continued by colorful banners that define support spaces in the workstation area.
