Government Project
King County built a new Child and Family Justice Center to establish a new approach to juvenile and domestic family cases. RBA was awarded the contract to provide all the furniture for this new, four floor 232,000 SF project. The process included selecting and providing all furniture for the private offices, waiting areas, courtrooms, conference rooms, open offices, training centers, day care, and portions of the detention areas. The project included all new accessories including trash/compost/recycling receptacles, whiteboards, lockers, coat hooks, storage, and shelving.
The goals included functionality, durability, and sustainability. The solution included refurbished cubicles and new product from furniture companies that lead in sustainability like Watson, KI and others. RBA developed final space plans and furniture color palettes to compliment the architects finishes and design. RBA provided all installation services. By working closely with the county project manager RBA was able to complete the furnishings at the same time as the construction. This close collaboration ensured the building was completed on time and on budget.
